What Is A Guardian

What Is A Guardian?
Guardians are good citizens who dedicate their time and presence to keeping a watchful eye and creating a safe environment
within their community. Whether providing a safe space within a local business or offering assistance in-person, they are a support for those in potential danger or feeling threatened or vulnerable.
A Guardian's Role
Guardians play a critical role in making our communities safer and more inclusive. They act as protectors, allies, and supportive guides. A Guardian’s primary responsibility is to remain watchful in public spaces, acting as a helpful hand to those who may be vulnerable to potential threats.
Types of Guardians
Business Owners as Guardians
Local business owners can transform their locations into sanctuaries, providing safe spaces for individuals to find refuge. Business Guardians receive training to prepare their staff and spaces to support anyone who needs help. By displaying the Sanctuary for All symbol, they signal to the community that their location is a trusted Sanctuary. If you are a business owner interested in becoming a Guardian, please consider becoming a Sanctuary.

Individual Volunteers as Guardians
Individual Guardians dedicate their time and presence and embrace the role as a lifestyle, always watching out for opportunities to help. They are often on the move, available through our app, and ready to step in when someone is in need.
